In tabs that display location addresses, like Contact, Events v2, Around
Us, etc., you may see a comma in place of an address, as below (see
Fig. A). This occurs when you don't properly select your location's
address during the item set-up process.
There are two ways this can happen:
- You check the box to "Use imported location(s) from the Home/Contact Tabs" but don't select an address from the drop-down menu (see Fig. B).
- You use the Address field to input a street address, but don't select an address suggested by Google Maps, saving an unverified address (see Fig. C).
- In situation 1, you just need to reopen the item editing window and select an address from the drop-down menu of imported locations. Save your changes and refresh the tab in your app to verify that the address is now properly displayed in place of the comma.
- In situation 2, try typing out the address rather than copying & pasting. When you copy & paste an address that is incorrect or unlisted, Google is unable to identify it and you're left with an unverified address. While you type out the address, check out the suggested addresses provided by Google. Click on the correct one and the GPS coordinates will automatically populate. Save your changes and refresh the tab in your app to verify that the address is now properly displayed in place of the comma.
Custom Location Names
If your app is operating on the Hazel source code or beyond, you can use Custom Location Names. These location names will appear within the list view and the item view, as seen below. This is a great alternative to the street address or city, particularly if you have many locations in the same vicinity and you want to help your users distinguish between them.
To use Custom Location Names, just fill out the Address Section 1 and Address Section 2 fields. For the purpose of providing directions and additional info, you should fill out the Address field as well.
